It’s all about the bibles, ladies! The Genealogical Records Committee (GRC) helps our DAR Library increase its holdings, and make available records that have been indexed so that these are searchable world-wide.

If you have an old family bible, take a picture on your smart phone and text it to me. You can e-mail it to me or mail the photo’s to my home address.

A great chapter project—have your members bring in their old bibles and take photos of the publishing page, family information and provide the name of the member. It is that easy!

For those ladies that love going to estate sales, start snapping photos of those old bibles and send them to me.

Please consider watching this video about “What’s in a Bible”.

To learn more about how you can help, go to the DAR website, login to “Members” and click on Committees then on Genealogical Records. You can volunteer to index bibles from the comfort of your own home! Please contact me with any questions you may have and I will be delighted to help you get started.

Contact State Chair Karen Pogoloff for more information.
