Meetings

Our chapter meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month, September through May.

Our History

Celebrating over 100 years of service to the community, Poplar Forest Chapter, NSDAR, was organized in 1913 by Mrs. Ella Gordon Carrington in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Behind the Name

The chapter is named after Thomas Jefferson's private retreat in Forest, Virginia. Thomas Jefferson inherited the property in 1773 and began work on the plantation in 1806..
